1. Is Cosmetic Surgery painful?

During the procedure, anesthesia is administered to ensure that you will be comfortable and feel no pain. We may use general anesthesia, local anesthesia or sedation depending on the procedure that is being done. After surgery, any discomfort you experience can usually be controlled with medications and will subside within a few days.

2. When will I be able to go back to work?

Depending on the procedure, on average, most patients are able to go back to work in 7 to 10 days.

3. Will people know that I had a cosmetic procedure done?

Most cosmetic procedures will improve your looks subtly without any excessive attention. Generally, people will ask if you are on a new diet or exercise regimen, but typically they will not know that you had surgery. Ideally, results will make you look natural, healthy and beautiful without looking like you have had surgery done.

4. How long do the results last?

Cosmetic procedures that focus on rejuvenation such as a face lift, forehead lift, laser resurfacing and eyelid surgery can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Cosmetic procedures that focus on reshaping your body, such as liposuction, can last a lifetime unless a change in lifestyle causes you to gain weight. Other procedures, such as rhinoplasty, chin augmentation and cheek augmentation can last a lifetime.

5. Will there be noticeable scars?

Our goal is to minimize the appearance of scars with the use of lasers and advanced sophisticated technology, including dermabrasion and CO2 lasers. We also use techniques to hide scars in certain areas so that they are barely noticeable.

6. How long will I be at the surgery center?

Most procedures are done as an outpatient service, meaning you will generally go home the same day as your surgery. If an overnight stay is required, you will be monitored by a Registered Nurse while you rest comfortably in our recovery room. You will be asked to arrive one hour prior to your scheduled surgery time in order to prep. You should expect to stay a few hours after your surgery is complete to make sure you are feeling good and are able to tolerate any discomfort. You will be released when you are comfortable and ready to go home.

7. How much does it cost?

Cosmetic surgery is available to everyone. In additional to increased affordability, financing options are available. We are excited to announce our 0% in-house financing for our patients. If you would like more information, our patient care coordinator will be happy to discuss this with you in detail. Please call 619-216-8000

8. How many people undergo cosmetic surgery?

Every year, millions of people undergo cosmetic procedures for various reasons.

9. What is the common age for individuals who undergo cosmetic surgery?

The majority of the people, who present themselves for cosmetic procedures, are between the ages of 35 and 50. Approximately 20-25% of the people who come in for cosmetic procedures are between the ages of 20 and 35. The rest are over the age of 50.

10. How many men have cosmetic surgery?

Cosmetic surgery has become quite popular among men. Common procedures include hair transplants, liposuction, and laser hair removal. We are seeing more and more cosmetic procedures preformed on men and we are pleased to provide these services and others.

11. How do I find a qualified surgeon?

It is very important for patients, whether they’ve had cosmetic procedures done in the past and are coming back, or patients who are beginning this exciting journey, to ask about a doctors credentials and specialized training. You need a surgeon that has completed a number of procedures ranging in breast augmentations, liposuctions, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks) and face lifts to give you the best cosmetic results. Aside from knowledge, cosmetic surgery also requires a skillful hand to achieve the most natural results.

13. What should I expect at my first consultation appointment?

At your first consultation, you will meet with the doctor personally, not a nurse or surgical coordinator. You and your doctor will discuss your goals regarding cosmetic surgery and any concerns you may have. The doctor will then examine you and various treatment options will also be discussed.
