Breast Lift San Diego (Mastopexy)

Over time it may be difficult to tell, but a woman’s breasts change shape and start sagging. Multiple factors are responsible for this to occur, including things like gravity, childbirth, natural aging, and physical or medical trauma. A breast lift, medically known as mastopexy, can allow patients who have been troubled by sagging or droopy breasts to reshape and reposition them to a natural position on the chest. A breast lift will not eliminate the factors that cause breasts to droop, but this procedure will help slow the effects of aging and gravity.

A breast lift is often performed in conjunction with other breast and body contouring procedures, including breast augmentation and liposuction, which will help increase firmness of the breasts and target unwanted fat cells from the chest region.

Breast Lift Consultation

Dr. Talebzadeh will have a thorough consultation with each patient to assess their candidacy for a breast lift. He will examine the area and discuss the patient’s ultimate goals for this procedure. Dr. Talebzadeh will also go over the patient’s medical history and any medications they are currently taking to ensure a safe procedure. He will then create a personalized treatment plan that will address all concerns and needs of the patient to reveal a beautifully lifted appearance. Dr. Talebzadeh will spend time explaining all procedural details and answering any questions the patient may have. He is dedicated to standing as a resource throughout the patient’s entire care at Eastlake Cosmetic Surgery.

About the Breast Lift Procedure

A breast lift in San Diego is usually performed under general anesthesia, which means the patient will be asleep throughout the operation. The procedure itself is performed on an outpatient basis and requires about two hours for the operation. The most common approach involves an incision made along the underside of the breast. The other incision approaches that Dr. Talebzadeh may utilize, includes:

There are a number of factors to carefully consider when selecting the correct type of implant that matches the goals you have for your body. These factors include implant size, shape, composition and placement. Breast implants are made of durable silicone shells, and filled with silicone gel or saline to add volume. We offer a variety of shapes and sizes so you can customize your breast augmentation to your body and your aesthetic liking. However, the types and sizes of implants can vary based on your breast tissue, anatomy, skin elasticity and body type.

  • Doughnut Mastopexy – Incisions made around the areola
  • Lollipop Mastopexy – Incisions around the areola and down the breast crease
  • Anchor Mastopexy – Incision around the areola with vertical and horizontal incisions on the breast crease

Once the surgeon elevates the breasts to a youthful position on the chest, the areolas and nipples will be repositioned to the center of the newly contoured breast shape. After which, the excess skin and adipose tissue will be removed from the breasts and the incisions will be stitched and bandaged.

Breast Lift Recovery

Generally, breast lift recovery requires the patient to submit to rest and limited body movements/physical activity to allow successful healing of the breasts. Patients often experience minor pain, but by following the doctor’s postoperative instructions and taking the prescribed oral medication their pain will diminish.

Dr. Talebzadeh will schedule a postoperative appointment to evaluate the healing process and address any concerns or questions. During the first week, patients are able to resume light activity. After four weeks, patients will be able to ease back into their normal routine and exercise. Complications are rare, but Dr. Talebzadeh guides you in the right direction to reduce the risk of potential problems.
