How to Prepare for Liposuction
Dr. Talebzadeh will have a consultation with each patient to assess their candidacy for liposuction. He will perform a short exam of the area of concern, discuss the patient’s medical history and identify their ideal goals for this procedure. He will then create a customized treatment plan for the patient based on information gathered at this appointment. Dr. Talebzadeh will spend time educating the patient on all procedural details including the preparation, any necessary prescriptions and recovery process. He strives to remain a resource for his patients throughout their entire care at Eastlake Cosmetic Center.
It is important to be as healthy as possible to prepare for liposuction and avoid any complications. Patients should not smoke before or after this procedure. They should also notify the doctor of any preexisting medical conditions or medications they are taking. Patients should begin to implement a healthier lifestyle and habits to maintain results after the surgery. Patients should not eat the night before the procedure and follow all pre-procedural instructions given by Dr. Talebzadeh and his staff. Patients should make all necessary postprocedure arrangements before undergoing liposuction.
What to Expect After Surgery
After your procedure, you may experience swelling and throbbing in the targeted region. However, we will prescribe necessary medication to ease any discomfort you may be feeling. The first few days will be the most difficult, however in a few days you will notice a significant reduction in swelling.
You will be given garments that provide pressure to minimize any swelling and help the healing process. Results may be noticeable following surgery and will continue to improve as your body heals and swelling subsides. During your consultation, your cosmetic surgeon will provide further instructions for your recovery process.
