FotoFacials

FotoFacialsDo you want to improve your skin texture and reduce the appearance of age spots, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, redness or veins, but don’t want an invasive procedure? We may have the perfect solution for you.

What is a FotoFacial?

FotoFacials are a noninvasive procedure that involves the use of intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat problematic skin, acne scars, sunspots, pigmentation, signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles, and enlarged pores. It can also be used to treat redness and rosacea. This treatment works to rejuvenate the appearance, texture, and condition of your skin. FotoFacials can be applied to different areas of the body such as the face, neck, hands, and chest.

How does it work?

At INSERT, we work with you to individualize your treatment plan to your desires and your skin’s needs. Before the procedure, the treatment area is cleansed and glasses are worn to protect the patient’s eyes from the light used during the FotoFacial. The IPL handpiece is gently applied onto the surface of the skin and the light pulses are activated.

The procedure usually lasts 30 minutes depending on the size of the treated area. Multiple procedures are usually required at 3-week intervals to achieve the patient’s desired result. After completing treatment, touch-ups may be required throughout the year for maintenance.

Results

Slight bruising and redness may occur and last a few days following the procedure. There is no downtime and results are shown within the first few days. FotoFacials are effective at improving tightness in the skin, smoothing fine lines, and improving sun damage. Patients also notice a reduction in redness or flushing of rosacea, diminished hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and freckling as well as smaller pores.

It is important to protect your skin from the sun following treatment and to use products designed for sensitive skin for a week before returning to your normal skincare routine.

If your goal this year is to have healthier, younger-looking, clear skin, a FotoFacial may be right for you. For more information on FotoFacials or to schedule a consultation with our office to discuss treatment options, contact Eastlake Cosmetic Surgery today.
